Meet Carrie
Whether you're a voice actor trying to turn your talent into a real business, or a creator with something bigger inside you than your current offer, you're in the right place. I've been where you are. And I built my way out.
Four and a half minutes, straight from me. Who I am, what I do, and why I do it.
Growing up, I was so quiet that some people thought I literally couldn't talk. In school, I barely said a word. I just watched, observed, kept everything inside.
Then I'd get home and go absolutely wild. So much energy that my mom would send me outside to run laps around the block just to burn it off.
All that energy, all those thoughts, they were always there. I just didn't have a place to put them yet.
I didn't pick that podcast episode. It picked me.
Years later, with a degree and a corporate job and all the boxes checked, I was driving to work one morning with my three-month-old daughter at home. I put on a podcast called The Go For It Show. Not because of the topic. I was part of a podcasting network and just wanted to support a fellow host.
The episode was with a voice actor named Alyson Steel. She worked from home. She made a living with her voice. And something inside me went: "Wait. She does what?"
I signed up for coaching. I did exactly what I was told. Three weeks in, I booked my first national campaign.
I was recording auditions in my closet during nap times, whispering to clients so I wouldn't wake the baby. Within four months, I'd built enough work to leave my corporate job. It was messy, unglamorous, and completely thrilling.
I didn't quit and hope everything would work out. I built until the thing I was building could hold me.
Freelancing means irregular income, and that's a different kind of pressure when you have a family counting on you. My husband and I had to build a whole new relationship with money and uncertainty. There were lost jobs. There were seasons that tested us.
There was a moment where I seriously considered walking away from all of it. I didn't. I kept building.
I wrote an ebook about my journey and started an email list. I spent a year just showing up. Writing to my audience, building relationships, giving away everything I knew.
When I finally launched my first course, I sold it from a travel trailer during a family road trip. Laptop on the table, kids asleep in the back. That launch made $18,000 in a week. That's when I knew: the thing I'd built on the side could actually hold me.
I got the call to match Lady Gaga's voice for a project. That's the kind of sentence you don't expect to say out loud.
A Grammarly commercial I voiced turned into a TikTok dance. Millions of views. My voice, in a meme. Still processing it.
Live announcing the MTV Movie & TV Awards. No second takes. National television. The shy kid who wouldn't talk in class.
Here's what I've learned from building a business, coaching hundreds of people, and standing on stages: the thing you want most is on the other side of the thing that makes you cringe.
You have to be willing to be a beginner. You have to be willing to look like an amateur. You have to bear the criticism of people watching you figure it out in public.
That climb can't be avoided. But once you know that, you can actually rejoice in the cringe. Every awkward rep gets you closer to the peak. On the other side is the Valley of Cool, where the thing you've been building finally feels like yours.
The Principle
There is no way around it. Only through. And every rep of cringe is a step closer to the peak.
How I Can Help
Everything I teach sits inside visibility strategy, the work of getting seen as yourself. Three pillars, plus dedicated training for voice actors. Start with whichever one is in your way.
The foundation
Get clear on who you are so nothing you publish ever sounds like it could have been written by anyone else. My signature approach is hospitable branding, and Legacy Branding is where I teach it.
Explore Legacy BrandingThe systems
Email, content, and outreach systems that put you in front of the right people consistently. MOVE is the tactical side of visibility, built to run without turning you into a full-time content machine.
The inner work
The deeper work of actually being seen when every part of you wants to hide. PLACES is 12 months of private coaching for people ready to confront the resistance that keeps their best work in the drafts folder.
Learn about PLACESAlso, for voice actors
Legacy Branding, MOVE, and PLACES were originally built for voice actors, and they still serve them. Voiceover Training is where the VO-specific work lives: the Success Intensive, courses, and private coaching.

The real barrier between you and the thing you want to build is your willingness to look like a beginner. Strategy, time, and money aren't the problem. This talk is about climbing through the discomfort and coming out the other side.
Why the most capable people are often the most paralyzed, and the three shifts that get them moving again.
How to stop outsourcing your confidence and start taking up the space you've been shrinking away from.
The invisible barrier that stops people from building, creating, and putting themselves out there, and how to dismantle it.
How to build something of your own alongside your career, your family, and your responsibilities, without blowing up your life.
